Shopping for the Right Fragrance

Shopping for the right fragrance involves knowledge about what decides the fragrance when you wear it, your liking, knowing proper brand names and shopping for it online.

Shopping for the right fragrance may seem simple but in reality it is not so since it involves having some knowledge about perfumes and their behaviour. First and foremost you should know what kind of perfumes suits your skin. Perfumes being a mixture of volatile organic chemicals, how these will interact with the type of skin you have; dry or oily matters. Many times skin becomes allergic to certain chemicals. Shopping for the right fragrance then involves choosing the compatible fragrance which you like most. This selection is made easy if you can list down the fragrances that you do not like since the choice becomes narrower.

For shopping for the right fragrance, people visit a perfume store. It is good to remember that the smell you get from a perfume in a perfume store may be due to a mix of various volatile organics in the air due to the presence of different types of perfumes since many customers may be checking out their choice. On the other hand the same perfume at home may yield a different fragrance. It is also good to know while shopping for the right fragrance that the smell upon the immediate spray of a perfume is different from the one you get when it touches your skin which in turn is different from the scent when it finally settles by mixing with your skin oils and sweat. Oily skin affects the scent of the perfume and similarly body odour generating chemicals mixing with the chemicals in the perfume affects the scent that you are finally able to whiff.

Shopping for the right fragrance also involves the timing and the occasion for which you are going to use the perfume. Perfume that you wear for evening party is going to be different from the one when you wear during conducting business in an office. Perfumes contain fruity, floral, citrus etc. extracts in some base solvent like alcohol or ether. When you choose the right type of scent it creates an impression about your personality. When you buy from a perfume store, try spraying on your wrist near the pulse points, allow the scent for a few minutes to settle and then decide. Depending on the percentage of the extract the cost will vary; that is, a stronger perfume containing a higher percentage of the extract will cost more. So you can look for discount sales in a mall for the same perfume rather than shopping in a dedicated perfume store. Shopping for the right fragrance through online shopping can work out much cheaper if you know the proper brand name of the perfume whose fragrance you have carefully chosen and arrived at a decision to buy it.
